SMART MobiPrize 2016
For 2016: MobiPrize has returned with more prizes, more benefits and a new location for the award ceremony. We started in Brazil in 2012 at Rio + 20. Then we went to Detroit, Michigan in 2014 for the ITS World Congress. Now MobiPrize is heading to Quito. 2016 MobiPrize awards will be presented to winners in October 2016 and the UN’s Habitat III Conference in Quito, Ecuador.
The Mobi award categories for 2016 include:
For 2016, NextEnergy continues to sponsor an award for Michigan-based companies. This award honors early-stage companies and university researchers developing and commercializing innovative mobility solutions in Michigan. NextEnergy believes the award will provide impact by promoting Michigan innovators and connecting them to each other and to Mobi’s global network of entrepreneurs, investors and corporate mentors.
For 2016, SMART MobiPrize and ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) have continued their partnership to honor governments and government-owned agencies or public enterprises that have demonstrated active efforts to build a culture of New Mobility innovation and to encourage entrepreneurship in sustainable transportation. This year the award will also be open to national level governments and government agencies alongside city and state government agencies.
For 2016 the University of Michigan Mobility Transformation Center (MTC) has created a special opportunity for companies working on technologies, applications, and/or new business models supporting a connected and automated multi-modal mobility system. The MTC has interest in technologies such as connected aftermarket retrofit devices and applications that leverage a connected and automated ecosystem to improve congestion and/or safety and/or sustainability and /or accessibility. People’s Choice Voting: All Grand Mobi, Michigan Mobi and best Indian Enterprise Mobi entries submitted by July 31, 2015 will be entered into the people’s choice vote. These votes will represent 15 points in the overall score. So submit soon and reach out to your networks to support your enterprise. People’s choice voting will be open from August 5-15, 2015.
